Donald Trump, President of the United States, said that any individual seeking to assume leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran would be targeted as part of ongoing U.S. and Israeli military operations. Speaking to reporters at the White House on Wednesday, Trump stated, “Their leadership is being eliminated rapidly. Anyone who wants to be leader will ultimately be killed.” He also said that Iran’s rockets and launchers are being destroyed. According to reports, Ali Khamenei, Iran’s former supreme leader, was killed on Saturday in joint U.S. and Israeli strikes in Tehran. In an interview with ABC News, Trump said, “I killed him before he could kill me.”
