LONDON: Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, has stated that Britain played “no role” in the joint U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran. In a televised address on Saturday, Starmer said that despite not participating in the attacks, British aircraft are currently flying over the Middle East as part of a coordinated regional defensive mission. According to him, the flights are aimed at protecting British citizens, interests, and allies, and UK forces remain actively present in the region. The British prime minister also urged Iran to refrain from further attacks in the Middle East, abandon its weapons program, and halt what he described as “violence and repression against the Iranian people.”
