KABUL: Richard Lindsay, the United Kingdom’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, has stated that Britain will continue its support for women and girls in Afghanistan. He said that he recently held important discussions on the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan with several international organizations and the Afghan Women’s Support Assembly. Lindsay emphasized that since the Taliban’s return to power, women in Afghanistan have faced severe restrictions and have lost a significant portion of their fundamental rights. According to reports, over the past four years, Afghan women have been deprived of their rights to education, work, freedom of movement, choice, and self-determination, and the international community has a responsibility to take action to improve their situation.
