KABUL: Taliban’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, said their response to Pakistan’s attacks will no longer be like the past, warning that future confrontations could extend to Islamabad, Lahore, and other major cities. Referring to today’s reported airstrikes on military centers in Islamabad and other areas, Mujahid said the attacks carried a clear message: “Afghanistan’s hand has now reached Pakistan’s collar.” He stressed that the fighting which began last night was not an offensive operation but a response. He warned that if the opposing side continues the conflict, it will face a harsher reaction. Addressing allegations about the presence and support of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Mujahid dismissed them as a “false narrative” and a pretext used by Pakistan. During a press conference, he shared further details of the operations, claiming that 19 Pakistani military posts and two bases were destroyed, while four posts were evacuated without fighting. According to Mujahid, 55 Pakistani soldiers were killed during four hours of clashes, with some bodies allegedly recovered by Afghan forces and several others captured alive. He also claimed that dozens of light and heavy weapons, ammunition, and military equipment were seized during the operations. Independent verification of these claims was not immediately available.
