KABUL: The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced the appointment of experienced British coach Richard Pybus as the new head coach of the national cricket team. Pybus is set to join the squad ahead of their upcoming series against Sri Lanka in March 2026. Pybus, 61, boasts a distinguished coaching career, including winning the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 with the West Indies and securing nine domestic titles in South Africa. He has previously led the national teams of Bangladesh and the West Indies, earning recognition as a prominent figure in international cricket coaching. The ACB emphasized that this appointment reflects its commitment to leveraging top-tier coaching experience to enhance the national team’s performance in international competitions.
