SANAA: At least 16 people, including eight women and children, were killed in a deadly collision between a passenger bus and a cargo truck in southern Yemen, security officials said on Wednesday. The accident occurred in Abyan province, said Yemeni authorities, adding that driver negligence and the use of gas instead of diesel fuel contributed to the severity of the crash, with the bus catching fire after the collision and all passengers reportedly burned to death. The incident marks the second major traffic disaster in Yemen in recent years. Last year, a similar crash in Abyan province claimed 17 lives. Officials warned that poor road conditions and weak infrastructure have increased the risk of fatal accidents across the country.
