MOSCOW: Russian state media have reported that Ukraine has suffered more than 1.5 million casualties since the start of the conflict with Russia. According to the state-run TASS news agency, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, Kyiv has lost around 65,000 soldiers so far in 2026 alone. The ministry further claimed that since the war began, Ukraine has lost 670 combat aircraft, 283 helicopters, 116,804 drones, 650 surface-to-air missile systems, 27,835 tanks and armored vehicles, and 1,671 multiple rocket launcher systems. The figures come as the war enters its fourth year, with human and military losses continuing on both sides. Ukrainian officials have not yet responded to the claims, and the reported numbers cannot be independently verified.
