KABUL: Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid has warned that Taliban forces would target Pakistani military personnel in response to ongoing tensions between the two sides. In an interview with Ariana News in Kabul, Mujahid said the Taliban had no intention of targeting civilians and would instead focus on Pakistani military forces. He claimed that during clashes last autumn, Taliban fighters responded to Pakistani actions by destroying 20 military outposts in a single day and killing 58 Pakistani soldiers. Mujahid also said Taliban forces had captured three Pakistani soldiers, who were released last week. He asserted that Pakistan had failed to learn from past mistakes and warned that Afghans would once again demonstrate their response. In a separate post on X, Mujahid described the recent strikes as actions carried out by “certain military circles” in Pakistan, accusing Pakistani generals of attempting to cover up their country’s security weaknesses through such operations.
