NORWAY: The identity of an Afghan asylum seeker who was killed in Bergen has been made public at the request of his wife, Norwegian media reported. The victim has been identified as Mohammad Tareq Waziri, 28, who was fatally attacked outside his home in the Arna area. His wife was also injured in the attack and is receiving medical treatment. According to reports, Norwegian police arrested a suspect several days after the incident. The individual had initially been questioned as a witness. A 30-year-old Afghan man from the Bergen area has been charged in connection with the killing but has denied the allegations. Police said the suspect has no prior criminal record, adding that the motive behind the killing remains unclear and investigations are ongoing. The incident comes amid growing concern among Afghan refugee communities, as similar attacks against Afghans have been reported in other countries, heightening fears and sensitivities among displaced populations.
