KABUL: Lina Rozbeh Haidari, a poet, writer, and journalist, says no government is as chaotic as the Taliban, accusing the group of constantly contradicting and ridiculing its own positions. In a post on X on Monday, Haidari wrote that while the Taliban celebrate the anniversary of the Soviet Union’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, they simultaneously treat Moscow as their political “qibla” and show a strong inclination toward Russia. According to Haidari, the Taliban at the same time adopt a hostile stance toward the United States, while also asking Washington not to halt weekly financial assistance. Her remarks come as the Taliban, since returning to power, have developed close ties with Russia, which has become the first country to formally recognize the group.
