WASHINGTON: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday that the global order should not take precedence over the national interests of countries. According to him, Washington has no intention of abandoning the NATO alliance but seeks allies that are capable of self-defense. Rubio emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the U.S. and Europe, stating that Europe’s future will never be of negligible value to America. During the same conference, China’s Foreign Minister acknowledged the current state of the global system, highlighting that around 60% of ongoing conflicts are active worldwide. Wang Yi called for negotiations to resolve these conflicts, noting that many people around the world have been affected by these wars.
