ANKARA: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that the U.S. and Iran are showing flexibility in their efforts to reach a nuclear agreement, and America’s willingness to tolerate uranium enrichment within specific limits is seen as a positive development. However, Fidan warned that expanding negotiations to include Iran’s ballistic missile program could lead to yet another conflict in the region. Simultaneously, the Iranian President emphasized that his country will not yield to excessive demands and will continue to engage in dialogue with neighboring countries to establish peace and stability in the region. Iran’s Foreign Minister also reminded that upcoming negotiations will be limited to nuclear issues and that Iran’s defensive capabilities will not be part of the discussions. Donald Trump, the U.S. President, following his meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, confirmed that direct talks with Iran will continue and that no agreement has been reached yet. The first round of these negotiations, which began last Friday, marks the first diplomatic contact after recent tensions among Iran, the U.S., and Israel, with both sides evaluating the discussions positively.
