KABUL: The Collective Security Treaty has announced that Tajikistan’s border forces will be equipped with advanced equipment and weapons due to the increase in armed clashes along the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border. The decision follows a clash on Thursday, where Tajik security forces engaged with suspected drug traffickers in the Khatlon province. According to Tajik sources, three militants were killed during this confrontation, while others fled toward Afghanistan. Talat Beg Masadikov, the head of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, stated that Russian media reported today that a list of weapons for delivery to Tajikistan is being prepared. However, it is yet to be clarified when these weapons will be transferred to Tajikistan. Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan are members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
