Starmer noted that China has secured export and investment contracts worth billions of pounds for the UK. Among these contracts is significant progress for the British whisky industry, as China has halved the tariffs imposed on whisky imports. The Prime Minister emphasized that these advancements are the result of action-based international engagement between London and Beijing, demonstrating that such relationships provide economic benefits for the UK.
