KABUL: The Leadership of the “Intellectual Movement of Afghans” Council has expressed its concerns over Pakistan’s “inhumane and discriminatory” treatment of Afghan migrants and has called on the international community to exert political and diplomatic pressure on Pakistan. The council stated that millions of Afghan migrants are facing detentions, forced expulsions, and extensive restrictions, with children, women, and the elderly suffering the most. This behavior is considered a blatant violation of human rights and international laws. The “Intellectual Movement of Afghans” has urged the United Nations, international organizations, and countries worldwide to provide urgent assistance, including shelter, food, healthcare services, and legal documents for migrants, and to closely monitor their situation. The council emphasized that Afghan migrants must not be forgotten, and addressing their plight is a humanitarian and global responsibility.
