TOKYO: The Afghan Embassy in Tokyo has announced that, as of today (January 31), all consular, political-economic, and cultural services have been suspended. According to the statement, the embassy has submitted itself to the Japanese Foreign Ministry, and the Japanese government is responsible for the protection of the building, assets, and archives. It is expected that once a legitimate government is established, the embassy will be handed over to the legal representative of Afghanistan.
