TEHRAN: The head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization has stated that the return of inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is contingent upon the agency clarifying its position regarding attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities attributed to Israel and the United States last summer. Iranian media reported that Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization, emphasized that IAEA inspectors must first establish their stance on these attacks before Tehran considers allowing UN inspectors access to the affected nuclear facilities. Some of Iran’s nuclear sites were damaged during the attacks by Israel and the United States last summer. IAEA Director Rafael Grossi, in an interview with Reuters, noted that apart from the three affected facilities—Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan—the agency still has access to 13 other Iranian nuclear sites.
