CAIRO: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump met on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, according to Al Arabiya. The discussions primarily focused on the Gaza issue, the ceasefire process, and the reconstruction of the region. During the meeting, el-Sisi expressed support for Trump’s plan to establish a “Peace Council” aimed at resolving regional conflicts and praised the U.S. role in achieving a ceasefire and implementing the second phase of the agreement in the Gaza Strip. He also announced that Egypt is ready to provide full support for the “Palestinian National Committee,” which is responsible for managing the Gaza administration, emphasizing the need for urgent reconstruction efforts and increased humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people. Donald Trump reiterated the importance of stability in the region and commended Egypt’s role in facilitating the ceasefire and managing the situation in Gaza. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the need for swift reconstruction in Gaza and addressing the humanitarian needs of the region’s inhabitants.
