Veterans criticize Trump’s decision to halt refugee access for Afghan partners

KABUL: U.S. veterans have sharply criticized President Donald Trump’s decision to close visa and refugee pathways for Afghan allies. According to the American media outlet “Task and Purpose,” these veterans argue that the new immigration restrictions implemented after a shooting incident in November are collectively targeting Afghans and have no relation to genuine U.S. allies. Shawn Vandiver, head of the organization “Afghan Allies,” stated that currently no Afghans are entering the U.S. through refugee or special visa programs, as the Trump administration has halted all such pathways. Meanwhile, Scott Mann, a former U.S. Special Forces member, emphasized that the issue of Afghan allies’ immigration has turned into a political spectacle, and the continuation of this situation poses a serious threat to the lives of former U.S. collaborators.
