KABUL: The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has stated that active political participation is more crucial than ever for peace and stability, given the increasing complexity of global conflicts. In its annual report, UNAMA noted that 2025 was one of the most challenging years due to extensive warfare and violence. The report highlighted significant global conflicts, including Israel’s “devastating war” in Gaza, widespread killings in Sudan, and the war in Ukraine, as key examples facing the international community. UNAMA emphasized that political vacuums and the financial crisis facing the United Nations have limited the organization’s capabilities. The mission reiterated its commitment to preventing conflicts, finding solutions, and reinforcing lasting peace, while urging the international community to strengthen both political and financial support.
