WASHINGTON: In a recent exclusive interview with Reuters, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed that Prince Reza Pahlavi, a prominent opponent of the Islamic Republic residing in the U.S., “seems to be a very respectable person,” but he is skeptical about Pahlavi’s potential for gaining public acceptance within Iran. Trump emphasized that it is not yet time to decide on such support, and it remains unclear if the people of Iran will accept his leadership. The statements follow comments from Trump last week, where he indicated that he has no plans to meet with Pahlavi and implicitly questioned his capacity to lead Iran.
