BEIJING: China has developed a new and advanced method for electricity generation that also helps prevent environmental pollution. According to reports from international media, a successful experiment was conducted in a city in Gansu Province that generates electricity using solar rays and salt. In this modern system, 12,000 mirrors concentrate solar rays onto a central tower, heating the salt to temperatures up to 565 degrees Celsius. This high temperature is used to drive steam turbines, which generate electricity. This system has the capacity to supply electricity to approximately 80,000 homes. Not only does this project not harm the environment, but it also represents a relatively easy and cost-effective method for energy production. It is considered one of the most advanced solar energy projects available today.
