WASHINGTON: After a woman was killed by U.S. immigration officials, widespread protests against the stringent immigration policies of the Donald Trump administration have erupted across the United States. According to The Associated Press, thousands of American citizens have protested in response to these policies. According to the report, the state of Minnesota and residents of its two major cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul, have filed a lawsuit against President Trump to halt these immigration operations. The lawsuit accuses the Department of Homeland Security of violating civil liberties and other rights guaranteed by the Constitution. It states that federal immigration officials have acted aggressively and heavily armed without adequate training, instilling fear among the residents of Minnesota through widespread illegal actions. The plaintiffs are demanding an immediate halt to the extensive operations of federal immigration officials in Minnesota, particularly in Minneapolis and St. Paul. These protests come as federal immigration authorities have launched a large-scale operation against immigrants in the region, deploying around 2,000 agents. This initiative has already led to the detention of approximately 2,000 individuals, being described as one of the largest immigration operations in U.S. history
