KABUL: Reuters reports that Neuralink’s CEO Elon Musk has announced on his X page that the company will begin mass production of brain-computer interface devices. He stated that Neuralink plans to fully automate surgical procedures by 2026. This implant is designed to assist individuals with conditions such as spinal cord injuries. The first patient has used the device for activities like video gaming, internet browsing, posting on social media, and moving the cursor on a laptop. Neuralink plans to start human trials for its brain implants in 2024 after addressing safety concerns raised by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which had previously rejected the company’s initial proposal in 2022. In September 2025, Neuralink announced that it had implanted devices in 12 individuals worldwide who are facing severe paralysis, allowing them to control digital and physical devices through thought.
