Media reports claim nepotism in Afghan Red Crescent under Taliban control

KABUL: Media outlets have reported extensive nepotism within the Afghan Red Crescent Society under Taliban control, with claims that Shahabuddin Delawar, the head of the organization, has appointed relatives and close associates (residents of Logan) to 22 various positions. According to documents obtained, Hafiz Mohammad Madani, the head of staff affairs in Kandahar RCS, has been dismissed and replaced by Shafiqullah Amini, a resident of Logar. Similarly, Ghulam Habib Hasam, head of international relations for Ningarhar RCS, has been removed, and Zarkhan Ahmadzai from Logar has taken over his position, as well as Faisal Ahmadzai, head of health affairs of Kabul RCS, has been replaced by Abdullah Irfan, also a resident of Logar, and Mohammad Saleh Akhundzada, head of disaster management, has been dismissed and replaced by an individual from Logar. Also, Abdul Latif Sabit, operational deputy of the Secretary-General in the Red CS of Takhar, has been removed, with Ruhullah fr appointed in his place. In Baghlan, Jan Mohammad Musazai, head of the Red Crescent cardiac hospital, has been dismissed, and Fazl, a resident of Logar, has taken over. Also, Abdul Latif Sabit, operational deputy of the Secretary-General in RCS of Takhar, has been removed, with Ruhullah from Logar appointed in his place. In Baghlan, Jan Mohammad Musazai, head of the Red Crescent cardiac hospital, has been dismissed, and Fazl, a resident of Logar, has taken over.
