KABUL: An explosion occurred in a bar in Switzerland during New Year’s Eve celebrations, resulting in casualties, according to police reports. A police spokesperson confirmed that several individuals lost their lives in the incident. The explosion happened around 1:30 AM local time in a bar in the town of Crans-Montana, as people were gathered to celebrate the New Year (2026). Reports indicate that more than a hundred people were inside the bar during the explosion. Crans-Montana is known as a winter destination for skiing and other snow activities. Following the explosion, numerous police and emergency personnel, along with several helicopters, were dispatched to the scene. The cause of the explosion has not yet been clarified. Further reports from the Swiss police indicate that multiple individuals are deceased, while others have been injured, though specific numbers have not been disclosed.
