DOHA: Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, stated that Arab and Islamic countries have condemned Israel’s “barbaric” attack on Qatar and will support Doha in maintaining its sovereignty. He expressed appreciation for the solidarity shown by Arab and Islamic brotherly nations, as well as friendly countries that have fully endorsed Qatar’s legal actions. The remarks were made ahead of an emergency summit of Arab and Islamic leaders in Doha. The Israeli attacks resulted in the deaths of five Hamas members and a Qatari security officer, targeting the Gaza ceasefire negotiation team. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized, “It is time for the international community to abandon double standards and hold Israel accountable.” Arab and Islamic representatives are currently drafting a joint resolution with specific measures against Israel. The Secretary-General of the Arab League stressed the need to convey a clear message of solidarity with Qatar, asserting that Israel must be held accountable for proven war crimes. The summit, expected to take place today, aims to provide a united and decisive response, implementing tangible actions against Israel.
