TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated before heading to the Doha summit that it is possible for Islamic countries to sever their ties with Israel and maintain unity as much as possible. He expressed hope that Islamic nations would unite against Israel and achieve a coordinated stance against its actions. Iranian media reported today that Pezeshkian is en route to Doha. He criticized Israel’s actions, stating, “The Zionist regime intends to do whatever it wants with complete support from the United States. This situation threatens the security and stability of the region.” The remarks come in the context of rising criticisms of Israeli attacks in several countries in the region, including Qatar. The meeting of Arab and Islamic leaders is taking place amid heightened challenges in the Middle East, particularly following Israeli airstrikes.
