KABUL: Lebanese security forces have successfully seized approximately 6.5 million Captagon pills that were prepared for shipment to Saudi Arabia. Interior Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar announced that the shipment was intercepted before it could reach the Port of Beirut. Security agencies identified and arrested members of the trafficking network after months of investigation. This network operated across Lebanon, Turkey, Australia, and Jordan, and is considered a significant threat by officials. Al-Hajjar noted that Lebanon is collaborating with Saudi Arabia in exchanging information related to drug trafficking criminal networks to prevent their expansion. Previously, Lebanon successfully thwarted the largest cocaine trafficking operation from Brazil to Beirut, which was identified and intercepted with Saudi intelligence cooperation.
