CHAGCHARAN: Local sources in Ghor report that a Taliban helicopter crashed today, in the Nalbandan area of Tolak district in the province. According to the sources, among those on board were Hedayatullah Badri, the Taliban’s Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Hayatullah Mubarak, the Taliban governor in Ghor, and several other officials from the group. They were visiting the Nalbandan mine in the area. The Tolak district administration confirmed in a statement that the helicopter encountered technical difficulties while taking off from a mountainous area and crashed at a low altitude. The crash involved no casualties, and all occupants were reported to be safe. The Taliban Ministry of Defense also stated on the social media platform X that the Air Force helicopter faced technical issues while flying from the center of Ghor to Tolak district and fell after hitting a mountain, but “all personnel are safe.” Images released show that the Taliban military helicopter experienced an accident during takeoff and fell to the ground. The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has not yet commented on the incident.
