KABUL: The T20 Asia Cup 2025 tournament kicks off today in the United Arab Emirates, with the first match set to take place between the national teams of Afghanistan and Hong Kong. In this tournament, which features eight teams including Afghanistan, Group A consists of India, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman, while Group B includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong. The opening match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong will be held at 7 PM local time in Abu Dhabi. Afghanistan’s second match will be against Bangladesh on September 16, followed by a third match against Sri Lanka on September 18. It is noteworthy that Sri Lanka’s national cricket team won the last edition of the Asia Cup T20 tournament.
