KABUL: The first shipment of aid from India for the earthquake-affected people in the eastern provinces arrived in Kabul last evening. Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar stated that the assistance includes tents, water supplies, medical equipment, and other essential items. He added that more aid would be sent in the coming days and emphasized that they are closely monitoring the earthquake-affected areas. Previously, India had provided assistance to Afghan earthquake victims, including 1,000 tents and 15 tons of food supplies. Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority of the Taliban reported that cash donations from the Chinese embassy and businesses have been entrusted to them for the earthquake victims. Additionally, the European Union announced that it has allocated one million euros for emergency assistance to earthquake victims, alongside food and non-food supplies that will be delivered to Kabul by the end of this week. Several other countries have also expressed their commitment to provide emergency assistance to the earthquake-affected communities in the eastern provinces.
