KABUL: President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has dispatched a search and rescue team including personnel from the Abu Dhabi Defense Authority, the National Guard, and the Joint Operations Command to assist those trapped under rubble in eastern Afghanistan. The Gulf Times, an Emirati media outlet, reported on Monday night, that also a shipment of emergency aid from the UAE, including food supplies, medical equipment, and tents for temporary shelter, has been sent to the earthquake-affected areas, particularly to support the injured. According to the report these humanitarian efforts are part of the UAE’s immediate response to natural disasters and various crises, reflecting the country’s international responsibilities and humanitarian mission, as well as its commitment to providing swift assistance to victims and those in need around the world. Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs UAE had issued an official statement expressing solidarity with the earthquake victims in eastern Afghanistan.
