KABUL: The Prime Minister of Yemen’s Houthi government, Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi, along with several ministers, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the capital, Sanaa, International media reported. According to reports citing the head of the Houthi Supreme Political Council, this marks the first time that officials of such high rank have been killed in this manner. The airstrike, which occurred on Saturday, also resulted in numerous injuries among others. Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi had been appointed as Prime Minister a year ago, and he was recently succeeded by “Mohammad Muftah,” who previously served as his deputy. The Israeli airstrike on Sanaa has provoked widespread international reactions, with several countries reiterating calls for increased pressure on Israel. It is noteworthy that Israel has also intensified its military operations in Gaza, declaring combat zones in the area. Meanwhile, the Houthis have emphasized their commitment to supporting Gaza and have stated that they will not withdraw their support.
