KABUL: As a result of heavy rainfall and flooding in Nangarhar province, five people have lost their lives and eight others have been injured. Sediqullah Quraishi, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Information and Culture Directorate in Nangarhar, reported that the floods occurred in the districts of Rodat, Haskemena, and Chaparhar. In addition to the human casualties, thousands of acres of agricultural land, several highways, and multiple irrigation dams have been destroyed. Quraishi added that assessments of the affected areas have begun by relevant authorities.
