KABUL: A 580-type bus overturned early this morning at the Arghandi intersection in the Paghman district of Kabul, along the Kabul-Kandahar highway, resulting in the death of 26 people and injuries of scores of others. Preliminary reports indicate that the number of casualties may increase. According to reports, the bus veered off the road and fell into a ditch. The incident comes just a few days after another traffic accident on the Herat-Islam Qala highway, which resulted in the deaths of 81 people. This event is considered one of the deadliest road incidents in recent years, raising concerns about road safety and vehicle oversight.
