Armed gunmen killed six members of a family in Nangarhar

JALALABAD: Local Taliban officials in Nangarhar report that on Tuesday night, unidentified armed individuals attacked a family in the Surkh Rod district, resulting in the deaths of six family members. Tayib Hamad, spokesman for the Taliban’s police command in Nangarhar, stated that the incident occurred in the Sultanpur area, where attackers brutally killed the family members using firearms and knives. Among the victims were an elderly man, a woman, and four children, three of whom were girls. The spokesman added that the motive behind this incident remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. In recent weeks and months, there has been a rise in similar incidents in various provinces, raising serious concerns about the country’s security situation. Mysterious murders in Afghanistan continue to occur and have been increasing lately.
