NIGERIA: Following the capsizing of a boat in Sokoto State in northwestern Nigeria, 40 people are reported missing, while 10 individuals have been rescued, Reuters reported. The National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria confirmed that the boat had 50 passengers on board. It is noteworthy that every year, dozens of people lose their lives in similar incidents in Nigeria. Local authorities have initiated search and rescue operations to locate the missing individuals, and efforts are ongoing.
