KANDAHAR: The Taliban police command in Helmand province has reported that six people were killed and one injured in a traffic incident on the Kandahar-Herat highway. Mullah Ezzatullah Haqqani, spokesperson for the Taliban police command in Helmand, stated that the accident occurred yesterday, in the Sang-e-Gilan area of the Washir district while a small vehicle carrying four children, one woman, and one young man from the Delaram district of Farah was heading towards Helmand collided with a trailer truck coming from the Gereshk district towards Herat, resulting in the dead of six individuals and injuries of one another. The driver of the trailer truck has been detained by security forces. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined, but such traffic incidents are often attributed to excessive speed, driver negligence, and poor or substandard road conditions.
