ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has dismissed allegations regarding the involvement of Pakistani citizens in the Ukraine war as baseless. In a statement released today, the ministry stated that “Ukrainian officials have not formally contacted Pakistan nor provided any confirmed evidence to substantiate such claims.” The statement further mentioned that the Pakistani government will raise this issue with Ukrainian officials and seek clarification on the matter. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict through dialogue and diplomacy in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter. It is noteworthy that on Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that fighters from Pakistan, China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and African countries are participating in the war against Ukraine alongside Russia.
