KABUL: China and Russia have commenced joint naval exercises in the Sea of Japan, an action taken in response to what they describe as the “U.S.-led global order.” According to Reuters, the exercises coincide with rising tensions between Washington and Moscow, occurring just two days after President Donald Trump announced the deployment of U.S. nuclear submarines to the Sea of Japan. As reported by Interfax, Russian and Chinese warships are operating as a joint group, including a large Russian anti-submarine vessel and two Chinese destroyers. Naval forces from both countries have stated that the exercises will continue for three days. Analysts suggest that this military drill sends a clear message to the U.S. and its allies in the region.
