PARIS: French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has announced that 15 countries have issued a joint statement calling for the recognition of the State of Palestine. According to Barrot, this statement encourages other nations to join the initiative. Sky News Arabia reported that the declaration was released by 15 countries, including Canada and Australia. Recently, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he would formally recognize the State of Palestine during the United Nations General Assembly on September 21. The remarks come amid a three-day international conference at the UN headquarters focused on resolving the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Reports indicate that the conference emphasizes the establishment of a two-state solution to address the ongoing crisis.
