FAIZABAD: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has raised concerns about the increasing malnutrition among children and mothers in Badakhshan province. In a recent report, UNICEF indicated that this year, approximately 165,000 children and 93,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women in Badakhshan may suffer from malnutrition. The organization has highlighted a significantly high number of affected individuals in the province. Previously, various international agencies, including UNICEF, have expressed concerns about the rise of malnutrition due to hunger, poverty, and unemployment crises in Afghanistan, emphasizing the need for support from the international community to address these issues.
