Tesla signs $16 billion deal with Samsung to make AI chips

KABUL: American automaker Tesla and South Korean tech company Samsung Electronics have signed a $16 billion commercial contract. Under this agreement, Samsung will produce advanced chips for Tesla, which will be used in the company’s electric and autonomous vehicles, these chips will be built on 4nm technology, making them fast, efficient, and suitable for artificial intelligence (AI) applications. A spokesperson for Samsung stated, “This contract represents a significant advancement in the digitalization of the automotive industry, and we are proud to produce chips for Tesla.” On the other hand, Tesla regards this agreement as a crucial part of securing a stable supply of advanced technology resources. Experts believe this contract will provide Samsung with the opportunity to further compete with Taiwan’s TSMC in the chip market. Additionally, Tesla will gain a reliable chip supplier outside of China through this partnership.
