KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a new agreement with the European Union, under which the U.S. will impose a 15% tariff on European imports. Trump referred to this agreement as “the biggest agreement ever.” The remarks came after a meeting with Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, in Scotland. Trump noted that as part of this agreement, Europe will purchase military equipment from the United States, adding that the European Union is set to buy energy from the U.S. valued at $750 billion. Additionally, President Trump announced that the U.S. will invest $600 billion in Europe. Ursula von der Leyen also described the agreement as “good.”
