KABUL: Ismail Kakar, a national Kurash player from Afghanistan, performed exceptionally well at the international Kurash competitions held in Paris, France, featuring athletes from 25 countries. He secured the runner-up position, displaying impressive skills against competitors from Congo, France, and Tajikistan and he earned a silver medal and a cash prize of €2,000. On the other hand, Saleh Mohammad Mohammadi, a national snooker player, has reached the top 16 players in the ongoing World Snooker Championship in Bahrain. Last night, he won his knockout match against an Emirati player with a score of 4–2. Mohammadi is set to compete today (Wednesday) against a rival from China. These achievements highlight the growing capabilities of Afghan athletes on the international stage.
