Pakistan extends airspace closure to Indian flights

KABUL: The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has announced that the country’s airports will remain closed to Indian flights until August. According to this decision, all Indian aircraft will be prohibited from entering Pakistan’s airspace. The authority stated today that the closure will apply to Indian flights until August 23. It is important to note that this ban is not limited to commercial flights; it also includes military and civilian aircraft owned by India. Pakistan’s airspace has been closed to Indian flights since April 23, and this ban has previously been extended twice for one month each time. This closure follows recent tensions between India and Pakistan, which escalated after militants killed 26 Indian tourists in the Pahalgam area of Indian-administered Kashmir in April. India blamed Pakistan for the attack, leading to heightened conflicts between the two nations.
