PANJAB: As a result of seasonal rains and flooding in Punjab, Pakistan, over 60 people have lost their lives in the past 24 hours. The Punjab Disaster Management Authority announced on Thursday that 63 individuals have died, with at least 290 others injured due to the severe rainfall. 15 people died in Lahore, 9 in Faisalabad, 5 in Sahiwal, 3 in Pakpattan, and 9 others in Okara. Mariam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab, said that a state of emergency has been declared in several regions of the province due to the unprecedented rainfall and flooding. The National Disaster Management Authority has forecasted that heavy rains will continue in parts of Pakistan over the next 24 hours.
