WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should not launch an attack on Moscow.
According to a report by Reuters, Trump made the remarks to reporters after the Financial Times reported that the U.S. president had encouraged his Ukrainian counterpart to carry out deeper strikes in Russia.
The Financial Times indicated that Trump had asked Zelensky whether he could attack Moscow with the provision of long-range missiles from the U.S.
When reporters asked Trump about this, he reiterated, “No, Zelensky should not attack Moscow,” adding that the Russian president should agree to a ceasefire within 50 days or face sanctions.
Recently, the U.S. committed to new military assistance for Ukraine, and it was revealed that a number of Patriot missiles are currently being transported from Germany to Ukraine.
