WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Iran is seeking dialogue with Washington, but he is not in a hurry for those discussions.

Trump on Tuesday said, “Iran wants to talk, but I’m not in a rush because we destroyed their facilities,” referring to last month’s U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

At the same time, the foreign ministers of the U.S., the U.K., France, and Germany have set the end of August as an unofficial deadline for a nuclear agreement with Iran.

In a separate part of his remarks, Trump indicated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should not attack Moscow.

He warned that if Russia does not agree to a ceasefire within 50 days, it will face additional sanctions.

The U.S. has also promised new military assistance to Ukraine, with a number of Patriot missiles having been sent from Germany to Ukraine.
